The Marathon des Sables is a 155 mile, 7 day footrace across the Sahara desert (in Morrocco). Competitors have to carry all of their own equipment and food, and daytime temperatures can reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. More details can be found on www.saharamarathon.co.uk

I'm running this race:-

i) As it looks an amazing challenge, and after seeing it a documentary on it on BBC2 I knew I had to give it a go;

ii) To raise as much as I can for charity;

iii) Because its there!
