We're used to scaling the heights of publishing here at IDG. We are less used to climbing an actual mountain at a frantic pace, driving hundreds of miles, then doing it all again. Three times. But that's exactly what a hardcore band of IDG colleagues have decided to do - we're taking part in CARE International's Three Peaks Challenge, in which we climb the highest mountains in England, Scotland, and Wales in a 24-hour period. 

It's all in aid of CARE International's vital work in some of the world's poorest places. CARE International is one of the world's top three aid agencies, fighting poverty and injustice in over 70 countries and helping 65 million people each year find routes out of poverty. They were among the first on the scene after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, and it was this disaster that moved us to take part in this challenge. 

Like proper journalists, we've started work on this project alarmingly close to the deadline, so if you're able to sponsor us we'd be incredibly grateful - as will CARE International. Expect a deluge of ker-azy, tasty, and potentially skin-exposing fundraising activities in the near future, but if you're able to donate whatever you can in the meantime we'd be really chuffed.
