Story
We're abseiling 100 ft off the roof of the Women's Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital, to raise money for Cellular Immunology Research!
Cellular Immunology Research is helping patients with antibody deficiency and rheumatoid arthritis. Many patients whose immune system is not working to full capacity tend to get more infections than healthy people. Research hopes to find more precise ways to help diagnose infections in such patients by detailed examination of how each person's immune response is coping with individual viruses or bacteria. These new tests could be valuable in helping to diagnose all sorts of infections leading to more effective use of antibiotics and antiviral drugs increasing the quality of life for patients with chronic diseases.
