On Saturday 19 June 2010, starting at Midnight, Mum and I will be taking part in the Midnight Walk - a half marathon from Nantwich to Crewe. The Midnight Walk is to raise funds for St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice in Winsford, in memory of Ian Sandbach who died in St Luke's exactly one year before the walk takes place, on 18 June 2009.

The Hospice is a truly exceptional facility that is run almost exclusively from charitable donations, and which needs £2.7 million of donations every year just to remain open. 

Nothing could have made the experience of Dad losing his battle with cancer at such a young age, an easy one for either Dad or his family; but the service that the Hospice provides and in particular the Nurses who work there made it slightly less terrible than it otherwise would have been.

I know we all regularly get asked to make charitable donations, and I know that financially times are difficult for a lot of people, but if you can afford to donate any money, please give generously to this fantastic cause.
