Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. This donation will go directly into Gemma's "Forget Me Not Fund".
Gemma sadly passed away on Christmas Eve from an agressive form of leukaemia, which she never knew she had, whilst on holiday in Trinidad in December 2008 with boyfriend, Gavin. She was just 26 years old.
Gemma was such an inspiration to us all and therefore close friends and family have decided to undertake the Three Peaks Challenge in her memory - this was the one challenge that Gemma always talked about and wanted to do but she never got round to doing it so we're doing it for her.
This challenge involves climbing the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis - 1343m), England (Scafell Pike - 978m) and Wales (Snowdon - 1085m) all within 24 hours - this includes driving to all peaks totalling 10 hours in itself!
Approximately 30 people (consisting of walkers, drivers, support staff) will be making the 11-12 hour journey to Scotland to start the Challenge on the weekend of the 21 August 2009 just after what would have been Gemma's 27th birthday.
Your support and sponsorship of this Challenge will be greatly appreciated and knowing that it might help towards a cure or early diagnosis of leukaemia will make all the blisters and sore thighs worth while!
Please stay up to date with all our training and organisation of the Challenge at www.inmemoryofgem.blogspot.com
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
