Story
I've only just realised that I have been diagnosed with this disease for 10 years next month and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to fulfill one of my ambitions as well as raising funds for this great charity. I've always said I would love to do a parachute jump but the thought of the doors opening whilst you are 15000 feet in the air and jumping out seemed like a crazy idea, but knowing that I'd be strapped to a 6' hunk (well a girl can wish, can't she!) and I'd have no choice but to jump made it alot easier. That and the fact that my cognative functions are diminished meaning that I can easily forget I'm doing it until the actual day and I'm being loaded into the plane!
Babbacombe and St Marychurch Rotary Club are organising the jump to mark their 50th Anniversary and plan to get 50 people to do the jump all on the same day, Sunday 10 August at Dunkerswell Airfield at Honiton. The money raised will be split 50:50 with the national M S Society and the local South Devon Branch so will be helping with research to find a cure as well as helping local people with this devistating condtion.
I volunteer for the local branch so know what difference your donations can make.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you very much for your kind donation. I do really apreciate it.
