It all started with Ky and Myself (Ollie) having lunch on the Cathedral lawns in Chichester, chatting and talking cr*p, not an uncommon past time.  We started talking about doing something big in our lives and there were a lot of crazy ideas being suggested, one of which was to take a year out and attempt to cycle the perimeter of Australia (only 15600 miles, easy). 

As we're sure you are all thinking that is a little ambitious, we too, came to the same conclusion so thought we would scale it down, considerably down.

We figured why not try something achievable first, like the Lands End to John O'Groats bike ride.  Ivan was soon to jump on the band wagon, his eyes lit up at the idea of riding 900 miles from one end of the country to the other, even more so when he heard we were raising money for Help for Heroes, being an ex-servicemen himself he could think of no better opportunity to raise money for those injured men and women returning from Afghanistan.

We have set a provisional date for the 29th May 2010 to start the ride and hope to complete it by the weekend of the 12th June.  We will be doing the ride completley un-supported, so will be carrying all our equipment with us and camping at various sites across the UK.

We would love to take this opportuntiy to raise as much money as possible for our heroes and help make their lives as smooth running as possible.

Of course, any donations no matter how small or large they are would be hugely appreciated.

Let the training begin :)
