Story
Thanks for checking out my JustGiving page!
Although I have never done anything like this before, I have signed myself up to months of training in order to climb a 19,334 ft mountain in Tanzania! Our team will face a 4-day hike up to the snow-capped summit, experiencing five different micro-climates along the way. Yikes.
You may be asking, why am I doing this to myself? Well, I am lucky enough to work for an incredible charity here in the UK called Build Africa, and I want to put myself to the test in order to raise enough money to help build a school in East Africa. I don’t usually ask family and friends to give money to the charity I work for, but on this occasion, I’m asking you to please support ME...and the climb I have ahead of me. I’m a bit nervous and overwhelmed, but completely exhilarated knowing that the money our team raises will truly make a difference to the lives of the children at Kavete Primary School in Kenya. By supporting this climb, you’ll be helping a school full of children - and the following generations that pass through its doors - to live a life free from poverty.
We are aiming to raise a total of £25,664 (nearly 40,000USD) to build permanent classrooms, toilets, provide desks, books, teacher training and HIV/AIDS awareness training at Kavete School. Please check out http://www.build-africa.org/schools.php?id=40 to learn more...
Any donation, any amount, would be deeply appreciated and will certainly help to change lives.
For my American friends and family - If you'd like to donate, please use this site http://www.xe.com/ucc to convert your dollars into pounds (GBP) and then indicate on this site the amount you'd like to give in pounds. (Sorry if it's a bit complicated!!) And if concerned, please check your bank/credit card to see if you'll be charged international fees. Sorry for any inconvenience!!
Thank you so much for your time and generosity!
Much love,
Jackie xxo
