Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
The St Barnabas ward of Crewe is one of the most deprived areas in the UK. The statistics make grim reading, crime rates are high, life expectancy is 9 years less than that of neighbouring wards, 80% of people of working ages have a literacy level of 1 or below, 1 in 5 women suffer domestic abuse and 75% of tenants of the local housing association are unemployed.
The Building Futures project, in association with Pathways, aims to complete the building of a Skills and Well Being Centre and launch a programme to provide services and support for the local community. The project team consists of 20 women volunteers, who will be involved in everything from the refurbishment of the building, landscaping of the outside space to organising an ongoing programme for skills transfers, mentoring and advice. To make this project a success, we need your help, your support and most importantly, your money ! Please dig deep and donate as much as you can.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: the charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now !
