We offer expert care, guidance and support to people living with a terminal illness

Story

Well we are back.  Last year the relay team came 32nd out of over 2000 teams but this year we resolve to do better but without the skills of our eastern european team mate who has gone home.  He has been replaced by a local, younger, though no less seasoned runner from the rugged plains of Maghera.

We are once again running to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care in memory of my friend Bill Cousins, who I told you about in detail on this page last year, and who spent his last days in the Marie Curie Hospice at the end of 2008.  I miss him terribly.  I know he would have been proud of our finish in his memory last year but he would have reminded me that it was the taking part that was important.

Marie Curie do brilliant difficult work and they need funds to keep the services going; if you ever have to deal with the dreadful disease that is cancer then you will want them to still be around so please help.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.  Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation.

We have set ourselves a very ambitious target (much like our desired finishing place) so please dig deep and donate much.
