26/04/09: I would like to thank all the kind people who sponsored me for the London Marathon this year. Unless you are one of those speedy African runners, the weather was really too warm for marathon running. However, this year marks 30 years of running marathons for me, so I was determined to "go for it," no matter what the weather was like.

As it turned out, I finished in 3hrs 48mins, which is the same time as I ran my first marathon race in 1979. The generous sponsorship that I've received this year on behalf of The Mayhew motivated me as never before and I am profoundly grateful to you all for this support.
