UPDATE: London Marathon completed in 3 hours 44 minutes!
I have volunteered to run the London Marathon in April 2009 to raise money for the Army Benevolent Fund (http://www.armybenfund.org/). Although I have completed the marathon in the past, that was a long time ago and I can assure you that this is going to hurt!
The ABF provides financial support to past and present soldiers and their families. It is entirely dependent on donations, and the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan will undoubtedly increase the pressure on their resources in the future. As someone who has served in the Armed Forces, I firmly believe that the ABF does a great job of offering support in their time of need to people who have served their country.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me; the Army Benevolent Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I'd be extremely grateful for any support you could offer to this noble cause.
