New York Marathon 2005 · 6 November 2005 ·

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Yes it's another Holmes marathon event. This time in the good old US of A

Last April Chevs (my wife for those of you who don't know the mad woman) ran the London Marathon where, through your amazing generosity, she raised a staggering £5,573.

She too was running for Great Ormond Street, which is so very close to our hearts. The reason, back in July our daughter Holly underwent the most incredible operation to cure her epilepsy and rid her of the constant confusing messages in her head.

The operation, called a Hemispherectomy, has been a great success thus far and 3 months on she is still fit free and many people have noticed a marked improvement in many aspects of her behaviour. This would not have been possible without the incredible care we received at Great Ormond Street. How they remain constantly positive with the daily challenges they face I do not know, but it is the most amazing place and deserves all the funds we can raise. Sadly this year I am not intending to grow any strange facial hair but am planning to charge around New York in under 3:15. Many thanks in advance for your generosity, Jamie P.S. If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
