We provide hospice care in Worcestershire to give people the best quality of life

Story

Why are we putting ourselves through 7 days of torture….Cycling Lands End to John O'Groats in a week.

The main reason was I wanted to raise some money for a cause close to my heart.
In July 2001, my mum passed away, she had been diagnosed with cancer in January and given 6 months to live. She kept herself going to make mine and Lucie’s wedding in Las Vegas, also in July.
She was incredibly brave over that 6 month period, which while driven by her own resilience was supported by St Richards Hospice.
St Richards in Worcester looks after people with terminal illness. Not only inpatients at the state of the art hospice, but with counselling, home care and therapies.
It was this that helped my mum to deal with and enjoy the time that she had left. It is important to me that other people receive this kind of care.

About the charity

St Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness; improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days. We also support their loved ones. Each year we help more than 3,400 people in Worcestershire.
