Story

...so will Jane Cunningham’s Willen Hospice Fund*

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

‘When the balloons go up’ took place on Sunday 21st October 2007 in Milton KeynesVillage (one of Jane’s favourite places) on a beautiful bright blue sky day.  500 pink and purple balloons were released, carrying messages and thoughts from family and friends to Jane and others, by Jane’s mother Margot.

A message from one of her friends:
"As you may know, Janie’s favourite colours were pink and purple, she had many a toaster and scarf to prove it.  She’ll be up there somewhere looking down and will be delighted to see the skies over her beloved village filled with pink and purple balloons sending her lots of love.  If we know Janie at all she’ll be up there partying with us.  So please join in - her last weeks in Willen Hospice were made so comfortable and warm due to the dedication of the people there.  This support and kindness also extended to us, her family and friends, and it would be so good to give something back".

A message from one of her colleagues:
"Jane made a lasting impression with many friends and colleagues.  Her optimism, cheerfulness and can-do attitude were qualities that made her seem special to all that she met and made her the success that she was.  This appeal is something that she would have thrown herself into - heart and soul!  It seems entirely appropriate that we remember her this way and help the organisation that helped Jane.  We hope that you'll share that sentiment and help us raise money for Willen Hospice".

The organisers would like to thank Milton Keynes Village Hall Committee, Morrisons, First Choice Coffee, Tesco, The Spice Lounge, The Swan Inn, The Open University, Willen Hospice and everyone who helped with the event and has donated so far, including the donor who found a balloon tag on the 13th Fairway at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club...  thank you so much!

The good news is that the target of £2,500 has been reached and the even better news is that people can still donate to this wonderful cause.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Willen Hospice will receive your money electronically and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.

Please donate generously.

Many thanks for your support.

*All donations over and above the costs of running this event will go to Willen Hospice.
