Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you probably already know our dear mum, Jan Ives was taken from us in November last year after a very short battle with Sarcoma. She was 58 years young. This vicious disease is very rare and not a lot is know about it.
The Sarcoma Trust UK only started in June 2007 and by May 2009 had raised sufficient funds to contact the cancer research community and begin a Sarcoma specific research over the next three years. The Trust was formed in response to the growing recognition among Sarcoma patients that the research in particular was lagging behind that of the more common cancers. There is also a recognition that certain sarcoma patient groups faced a poorer prognosis and widely different standards of care.
I have been given the opportunity to join in on a Sky Dive on the 6th March and took it upon myself to get sponsorship and help raise money for the Sarcoma Trust UK. This will probably be the first of many fundraising activities me and the family will attend, as its something we all feel very strongly about.
