Story
Thanks to all those who sponsored me for the UK Ironman on 7th September 2008.
2.4mile swim, 112mile cycle, 26.2 mile run (yes a marathon)
Yes , I managed to complete the course in 13:06 hours running accross the finish line with my daughters Alice and Heidi. I had a great day and couldn't have done it without the support of my family (especially Lara) through training and on the day. There were some tough moments in the challange but knowing my family were with me and with the generous donations I have received there was no way I was going to stop until I crossed the line.
I specifically chose the British Heart Foundation as my nephew was born with a heart defect and therefore had to undergo major heart surgery at just a few weeks old. As a result of the surgery James lives the life of any other happy and healthy 12 year old boy. James is very sporty and particularly loves playing football and he was there at the finish line too.
Big thanks to my equipment sponsors Helen Cadzow, H-C-Connect and Guy Rowlands http://www.corridori.co.uk/ cycle store.
You can still donate through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks again
P.S. you can now feed me cakes or beer ;-)
