My story

 

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Hello, my name is Jason Palmer.  My brother and I and friends walked for charity and in memory of Pat Thomas, our mum. She died suddenly after a short illness brought on by cancer a few days after her 65th birthday, on 29 April 2008.

Last year, we raised several blisters and a few aches and pains, but also over £650 for Hike4Hospices walking 23 miles across the Downs and around the Sussex countryside 16/17th August 2008. This year the Hike takes place 22nd / 23rd August 2009. Every pound makes a difference, you dont need to sponsor per mile, you can simply enter your card details for the cost of a coffee (preferably an expensive coffee so at least £2!). If everyone I know through facebook and email contacts gives me £2 , thats almost £600 I'll raise. 
 
£3500 is what it costs to run the Hospice for just one day. Donations in mums memory so far total just over £2000, so to fund the Hospice for the day, we dont have far to go!  What an achievement that will be...it'll be bloody amazing!!

As I have mentioned, we walked 23 miles in total (Lewes to Devils Dyke - Saturday) and , this is the same route we took this year,  from Amberley to Goodwood (Sunday) . Last year Ashley and I arrived first across the finish line, only second this year!!
