Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fund raising page.
As some of you may know on the 26th April 2009 I will attempt my first ever marathon, the Flora London Marathon. I will take to the streets of London and attempt to run the 42.195km (26 miles 385 yards) from Blackheath to The Mall to raise money and awareness for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre the national charity that is committed to supporting anyone affected by MS.
After a vacation last year with a dear friend who is affected by MS I felt inspired and motivated to raise awareness. A young and beautiful woman who's work is committed to helping others, she showed positive focus and courage which prompted me to speak with the people at the MSRC with regards to helping out. Her story is truly motivational and a testament to how one can overcome their fears and maximise their potential.
Since signing up, I have been introduced to many people; young, old, families, friends and work colleagues, who's lives have been affected by MS. This is further testament to the impact it has on so many.
I really do feel honoured to be running for such a worthy cause and already the training has been a life changing experience. The feeling of reaching the 5k mark and progressively building this up to 20k has been phenomenal....... My goal, based on current performance, is to finish in under 5 hours.... just to finish will be a feat in itself :)
I will be posting some pics of me in my running attire for your pleasure soon. I do look pretty amusing in tights and a high vis shirt :)
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please show your kind support and sponsor me now!
Much Love
