The Science Part
Cystic Fibrosis affects the major organs of the body, including lungs, liver and pancreas. The lungs and digestive system are particularly affected. Thick secretions in the lungs make it difficult to breathe and cause repeated chest infections which result in progressive and life threatening lung damage. The pancreas does not produce enzymes resulting in food not being digested properly. Over time the pancreas becomes inflamed and damaged. There is no cure for CF. Approximately 3 young people die each week due to Cystic Fibrosis.

About Us
Jayne is the sickly (some might say peculiar) one amongst her friends because she has Cystic Fibrosis. Being sickly is the least of her worries though to be honest, you should see her trying to run. Arms and legs flailing everywhere. People like Jayne have grand notions of hoping for better treatments and living longer. Some people are never happy!
Statistically, Jayne should have been dead at 31. Instead, she prefers to drain NHS resources by being alive and requiring specialist medical care because of her rubbish lung function. Some people are so selfish.
For some reason, Jayne, Hayley and Sonja will be dressing as St Trinian's schoolgirls when they take part in the walk this year. This will enable all the girls to look like total fools whilst raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Last year, they dressed as fairies. Some people are so weird.

The Begging Part
Next time you put petrol in your Ford Fiesta car, then please stop and think. Can't you just walk the 10 miles to work in the rain? Can't you put the meagre £125.89 you would use to fill up a small petrol tank and put it towards finding better treatments for those ill, sickly people? If so then you have come to the right place. Well ok, maybe just donate whatever you can because every little helps.
