Story
Hi
I'm running the rather wet and muddy "Hell Down South" and raising funds for the Scoliosis Association UK
As you probably know my wonderful three year old daughter has scoliosis, and by the time of my November run, she will have spent twelve months in a (very pink) upper body plaster cast "jacket". This minimises the progression of her curve, and to counter her growth it is replaced every three months by the spinal team at GOSH; but between these intervals it's on 24/7.
As of yet we've not had any dealings with SAUK, but with us not knowing what future treatment path lies ahead, that may well change.
She may move to a removable "brace", she may need surgery (a rather scary thought that one)... she may need something else, but for now the plaster jackets are the path and we'll deal with the other possibilities when we come to them.
Even if we're not needing the support of SAUK right now, there's a lot of kids (and adults) out there who are, so please dig as deep as you can.
Jen
