10 years ago I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

One person was core to getting me, my friends and family through the following year - Gill Starkey, a Macmillan Nurse. She was there from beginning to end, 24/7.

10 years on and well and truly cured, I still cry with emotion when I think of Gill.

With your help I'd like to give a little bit back to this amazing lady and the charity she worked for.

Before cancer I was a sprint tri-athlete. 10 years on there isn't much 'sprint' left in me, so I've gone for the ultimate tri-challenge - The Ironman.

On the 25th October I swim 2.4 miles, cycle 112 miles then jog a marathon

The time limit is 19 hours, I hope to do it in 14.
