Story
Hi and thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
In March 2009 I will be heading for Brazil to take part in an extremely challenging trek through the Atlantic Rainforest to raise money for UNICEF.
I am aiming to raise £2500 before the end of this year, so in order to help me reach my target I really need your support!
As part of my fundraising campaign I am also organising a 'mini trek' to climb Skiddaw mountain in the Lake District with my lovely (and possibly slightly insane!) friends & family - Jodie Sharrock, Dawn O'Connor, Donna Capper, Mike Wagg & Kate Ward. If you're here to sponsor them to climb Skiddaw on Saturday 22nd November, you can also do that on this page as we are all raising money for the same fantastic cause!
Any money you donate today will go directly to UNICEF and will really make a difference to the many disadvantaged children they support. The Brazil campaign works with children who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out of school (a massive 60% don’t make it through high school). To combat this UNICEF have set up their Sports for Development project which assists children in areas where there are high levels of poverty, social exclusion and violence. This project can really help to turn their lives around and gives them the opportunity to develop stronger communication, negotiation and leadership skills and increase their confidence. This can help them to combat issues like violence and drug use and get them off the streets and back into school.
Please sponsor me by clicking the link above, it only takes a few minutes and really can make a huge difference!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Unicef UK BT gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
