Event: Flora London Marathon 2009
We support young people with disabilities to lead more fulfilled lives.

Story

I am taking part in the London Marathon on April 26th 2009. (No sniggering at the back please)

I am sure the London Marathon needs no introduction to anyone. It is 26 gruelling miles around London from Greenwich Park to the Mall. Probably in the bloody rain.

If running 26 miles wasn't bad enough, the race itself takes place in April. This means that if I have any hope of making it round without having to be airlifted over the finish line, I will be spending a lot of cold winter Sunday mornings making the Clissold Park ducks and goats dizzy with my (hopefully improving) lap times.

There are two reasons for this possibly foolhardy act:
Firstly it is a serious effort to work off a few of the many pizzas that seem to be persistently clinging to my midriff. But, most importantly...

I am raising as much cash as I can possibly muster for Kith and Kids, who do loads of really good work with children and young people with learning disabilities. They are a small charity in North London (near where I live) which I know will make good use of every single pound I can possibly raise for them.
Please check out the Kith and Kids website if you want to know more about their work: - http://www.kithandkids.org.uk

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Kith and Kids gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid (please tick the box!!), plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

I've set myself an ambitious amount to raise so please give as much as you possibly can to make all those freezing winter runs worthwhile!

Thanks for your support, please give generously and come and cheer me on if you can - every bit of support is genuinely appreciated. x
