John's extra words
It's Sunday morning. I am sitting around in my pants, gently recovering from last night's excesses (several bottles of beer over the Britain's Got Talent final, and Britain's Got More Talent featuring the Brett Domino Trio). That's a nice way to spend Sunday morning.
So why, I ask myself, did I choose to enter next Sunday's Two Castles 10k? Especially after last year's struggle: there are hills; it was baking hot. Why would I forgo excesses, get up early, drag myself to Warwick, then spend an hour gasping for breath while hurting my legs? I don't have a good answer.
So the least you could do is make it feel in some way worthwhile by chucking some money in Oxfam's direction. Please!
Every donation genuinely does lift my spirits, and helps people too.
(P.S. actual reason - I genuinely don't like running, but it's the least-worst way to avoid having a body that doesn't work properly. A scheduled event to train for at least forces me to go out and do it.)
Debbie's extra words
(in response to 'I'm putting up a Just Giving page, shall I put your name on?')
Yeah, if you want.
About the race
Linky!
It's a 10km race. It starts inside Warwick Castle, and it ends inside Kenilworth Castle. It's a bit hilly for my liking.
