Story
We have set up this page in memory of our colleague and friend Jiji, who passed away on July 26th this year after a short battle with cancer. Jiji had been the Finance Officer at London Voluntary Service Council since 1999 and was a steadfast and dedicated member of staff. She was a woman of great integrity, grace and bravery who did a lot for charity, her church and the community. She loved travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
Jiji was full of energy and impressed us all with her cycling ability. Jiji used to cycle to work every day (18 miles round trip!), and joined in the London to Brighton bike ride to raise money for charity just a few months before falling ill. Throughout her illness and despite the pain, she remained strong and positive, and never failed to enquire about her colleagues.
SInce Jiji was a keen cyclist and fitness fanatic who lived in West London we have decided to do a sponsored 10k walk from Putney to Kew and a cycle ride on Thursday 21 October 2010 to raise money for Cancer Research UK in Jiji's memory.
