Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Well I did it! On 27th July I jumped out of a plane at 13500 feet and fell the first 8500 feet in less than a minute before the parachute opened! And I loved it!
I was diagnosed with throat and lymph gland cancer last Summer since when I have been treated by the wonderful people at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield. Their care and the equipment at Weston Park have quite possibly saved my life. When I thank them, they just shrug their shoulders and say it's their job!!!
I wanted to do much more than just say "thank-you" so I volunteered to help with fundraising. I had in mind answering telephones and putting things in envelopes. Then I saw a flyer about skydiving and somehow because, were it not for Weston Park I might not have been here to do lunatic things like this, and despite being terrified of heights, I decided to participate. So please give generously and make it worth my while!! You never know what's around the next corner, and I guess that everyone reading this will sooner or later know someone who, like me, will be affected by cancer. By donating now, you could help the research at Weston Park to save their life.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Weston Park Hospital Cancer Care And Research Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now! It's still not too late!
Many thanks for your support: I would never have dared to do it without the support of so many friends and colleagues.
Jill
