Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
As you may or may not know there is a long history of diabetes in our family which is why it is so personal and important to us to run for Diabetes UK. We nursed out grandfather through many years of illness as a result of this disease, and a number of his brothers and sisters also suffered. This impact of diabetes is severe, not only on those who have the disease, but also on those family members who provide support and car to their loved ones. There have been a lot of improvements with diabetes treatments as a result of hard work from organisations like Diabetes UK and the treatments that our Dad who also has diabetes uses are less intrusive than those suffered by our Grandfather, however there is still no cure! As such we will be setting out to do The Great North Run with one aim, to raise money towards finding a cure for this disease. So please give generously, we will need something to keep us going for 13.5 miles!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Diabetes UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
