Story

Our expedition, the Best Odyssey is heading to the Maldives this March and April.  I want to volunteer for the Maldives Whaleshark Research Program for two weeks while we are there.  Photography is one of the best ways to get people to not only see, but feel what is happening to the world's environment.  The world's largest fish, a plankton eater is seriously threatened.  In the Maldives, although they are protected they suffer some of the highest rates of boat and propeller damage in the world due to the large number of careless tourist boats.  Through my volunteer efforts I plan to raise world awareness not only of the plight of these peaceful, gorgeous creatures, but also to raise awareness of the ocean's rapid decline.
