Story

am taking on this HUGE personal challenge for a few reasons. My hangovers are becoming unbearable and last 2-3 days, probably because I don't drink often but when I do I am a bit of a binge drinker and not great at knowing my limits. Most of the time I am the joker of the pack and wake up with an embarrassed wife and not having much recollection of why!

I have been thinking of not drinking for a while and on New Year's Eve a few friends and family laughed and joked at my chances of being able to even complete a month let alone a year. This lead to them all betting me £100 each that I wouldn't last, which made me think, if I could raise that money in the space of 5 mins, how much could I raise in a year, all for two great causes!!!!

My charities of choice are the PCA benevolent fund and cancer research.

The benevolent fund does a great job in supporting past and present players and their families so I am keen to support the cricketing family as you never know when you may need there help.

Cancer research is one a bit closer to home as I have quite a bit of family history with this terrible disease. Recently my Mum, Sister and Aunty have all had there own personal fight with cancer but thankfully won there battles. This is largely down to the amazing work that cancer research do.

I would like to try and raise an equal amount for both so keep an eye out for how the fundraising goals are for each charity!!

Thank you in advance for your support and any donation will be greatly received :-)

Cheers

Joe
