Story
My mum died in November 2013 after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer earlier in the year. Sadly the truth is that Pancreatic Cancer is sometimes diagnosed too late to improve survival outcome and this was the case with my mum. Barely 1 in 5 patients last a year and only around 3% last five years or more.
I think we can do better and I want to be part of changing that.
Starting February 22nd I am aiming to do around 5 runs per week (between 20 and 30 miles or more) with the aim of reaching my target of 365 miles by June. If I achieve this then I will double my mileage to achieve 730 miles before the year is out. Please remember, I only started running half way through January...
Each mile that I run will effectively represent a day that mum should have been with me this year had things turned out differently. This is why for me that 365 miles is '365 days of life'.
Every person to donate £3 or more is welcome to suggest a track which I promise I will add to my play list for when I run. You can be as nice or as cruel as you like. Whatever you choose it will remind me of your support. Obviously I would encourage you to give as much as you feel you can but if you can only part with a pound then thats fine.
As an alternative you can now text your pledges to the number 70070. Just text the letters 'YHWO52' then leave a space then add the amount you wish to pledge (e.g. YHWO52 £1)
