Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 3 July, I completed the Workington 10k Run in a personal best time of 1 hour & 46 minutes. The race was dedicated in memory of 2 family members whom I miss badly - Tony Hastings and Terena Fulton.
In April 2015, I lost my Uncle Tony to bone cancer at the age of just 57. Not only was he a loving Uncle, Father & Grandad, but to me, he was the big brother I never had - always there to provided help and guidance.
I also lost a sister, Terena, to Non Hodgkin Lymphona in February 1996 at the age of only 20 - she was a sister in a million and I miss both her and Tony badly; indeed, everything I have achieved in my lifetime I would willingly sacrifice if it meant having both loved ones back.
Since 2008, I have raised almost £6'000 for Cancer Research through 5 Cumbrian Runs, 1 Carlisle 10k Run and several fundraising nights at The Harbour Side (Steam Packet) in Workington.
The fundraising doesn't end here - because on Saturday 30 July, I will be co-hosting another "Super Saturday" fundraising night , with music from a trio of top quality Cumbrian vocalists - BGT Semi Finalist Emma Jones, Andrew Burns and Karen Gee. There will also be a raffle, stand up bingo and a song or two (at least) from myself.
