Fort William to Inverness · 23 February 2008

We support individuals, families, and groups with complex health and social care needs, often due to disability, dementia, autism or mental ill health. The support we and our dogs provide enables them to better access the world around them.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

In August I am walking from Fort William to Inverness in seven days to raise money for the Dogs for the Disabled.

The charity trains dogs to help disabled people live life independently. It formed in 1986 and since then has trained more than 350 partnerships between dogs and humans. Each dog is trained in a range of specialist tasks including opening doors, retrieving out of reach objects, removing items of clothing and even emptying the washing machine.

I volunteer for the Dogs for Disabled every week and feel that they have been an important part of my rehabilitation. I want to put something back into the organisation and help improve the lives of many other disabled people like me.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dogs For The Disabled will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for all|your support. I look forward to telling you all about the walk and showing you the photos.
