Story
Thank you to you all for your very kind sponsorship, it was all well worth it for such a great cause, and we had a fantastic day (save the last 30 mins or so of the run).
There was a little bit of pain, slight soreness, and a few tears, and that was just you guys getting your hands in your pockets.
I know there are one or two out there who still doubt I completed it, and one or two who were waiting for me to cross the finish line before sponsoring me in the hope I didn't make it (not remaining nameless, DW, JH, BC & PR), well the photo opposite is my evidence, and Luca is my witness.
Whilst the time of a few years ago was beyond me, I managed to finish in 1 hr 47 mins 01 secs, (for those dis-believers among you my race number was 2630) which is still fairly respectable. My overall position was 5286 (top 10% I like to call it, if only I was as good at school); however I was 766th for my age group and gender (steady please) position - So as far as I'm concerned I was 766th in the Bupa Great North Run 2008!!
For all you people who are still to sponsor me (DW, JH, BC, and PR) there is still time (hurrah I hear you say). Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. The money donated so far has already been sent to Leukaemia Research, so thank you to you all.
