Story

Hi All,

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I'm putting myself through the torture of 13.1 miles to raise as much money as possible for a charity extremely close to my heart. My son was diagnosed with Diamond Blackfan Anaemia (DBA) at an early age.

Diamond Blackfan Anaemia is a rare bone marrow disorder which results in the inability to produce red blood cells. The condition is extremely rare, effecting around 700 people world-wide. It requires intesive therapy, and has no known cure. There are currently two main treatment types for DBA, Steroid therapy and Transfusion therapy. These are life long treatments.

Sponsoring me helps DBA-UK support patients and families. DBA-UK also provides much needed funding to a Research team based in St Georges Hospital, London. Research has been taking giant strides in the past couple of years and understanding what causes DBA is getting closer. So every penny counts.

Thanks again

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Diamond Blackfan Anaemia Support Group Uk gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
