Story
Well this is it, I applied for this god forsaken "Toughest Foot Race On Earth" back in 2006, something to aim for so i could sculpt my already chiseled body! The training has been going well. I've mostly concentrated on the mental preperation this last month, I'll probably throw a couple of runs into myself! Let me give you a brief indication of what I'm trying to achieve.
The race covers 243km/151 miles (in sections similar to 25, 34, 38, 82, 42, 22 km) run over 6 days (7 for some) - equivalent to 5 1/2 regular marathons. That's a speed of between 3 and 14 km an hour for competitors aged between 16 and 78). In addition to that, competitors have to carry everything they will need for the duration (apart from a tent) on their backs in a rucksack (food, clothes, medical kit, sleeping bag etc). Oh yeah and its across the sahara desert.
Well thats it what else can I say? I'm running it in aid of Combat Stress, (details are on the left) which I think in todays environment is a worthy cause. I've spoke to alot of people about this and the general consensus is that I will probably be dead by some time in the first week of april!
So if you would like to give some money towards a worthy charity or just to pay for my wake it would be very much appreciated.
And one last thing think of the children for god sake people!
