Story

I’m Hiking in Nepal for 11 days! It consists of 5 to 9 hours walk every day! Up to altitudes of nearly 10,000 feet! Yes "Ten Thousand feet" Yikes!!!

Although the trip is in October 2008 I started training in October 2007. Undeniably it’s going to take a very long time to get myself physically fit enough to challenge Mount Annapurna. Some of you know I’m Asthmatic, so it is even more crucial for me to take this very seriously, but with the go ahead from my doctor I’m free to hit the hills and train my little socks off!

However all the training in the world isn’t enough to send me to Nepal. I need help from everyone who sees this page! Please make a donation however small and help send me on my way.

I’d like to thank everyone now for supporting me with this challenge. It means a lot to me to be doing this for Macmillan, they provide much needed financial, medical and emotional support to Cancer sufferers and their families. Everyone knows someone who has been directly effected by cancer if they are lucky enough not to be directly effected themselves.

So please help me do my bit to help give back to Macmillan. And donate below. Its completely safe, and don’t forget to tick the gift aid box.

Update - November 2007 - I'm all kitted up for thie hike now, and the training schedule has started, i walked 8 miles this weekend! and i've also been up to Church Stretton to the Carding Mill Valley and hiked up and down those hills too! ... Still feeling good to reach the target early so i can really bog down for training come spring next year.

Update - January 2008 - Training is going well, so far, although i'm thinking i should really invest in some waterproofs! The fundraising has been very good as well! i'm pleasently surprised how generous everyone has been! and I'm confident of reaching my set target by the time I leave!

Update March 2008 - Fundraising has been a bit slow this month, I've not raised as much as I'd hoped by this month, but I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve. Training is also going well, although I think at this rate I'd have worn my boots out by the time I fly out! only 206 days to go!!.

Update April/May - Fundraising has slumped but my training and determination hasn't! i've been everywhere walking my socks off, so much so that i have sprained my knee! i'm ok though and training continues anyway, allbeit a bit slow, :)

136 DAYS TO GO.

Update June/July - training is going well, i'm walking with my leg weights now! just to make sure i'm as fit as possible! got a few tricks up my sleve for fundraising so fingers crossed all will be raised for October the 3rd!  we had the briefing meeting, and i have the majority of my kit now,

78 DAYS TO GO!
