Story
The Devine's and Hong's have decided to combine forces for this year's Oxfam Japan Trailwalker (May 22-24) as the JPM Broken Ankles. Our team name an homage to the Trailwalker Deities to grant us safe passage and godspeed through a treacherous 100km in Hakone within 48 hours. People have asked, "Why?! Why are you guys doing it again?! Are you crazy, masochistic, take perverse pleasure in suffering???!!!"
The answer of course is, "Kinda, maybe, sorta... but it's for the kids!!!"
On a serious note, we do feel that our fund-raising goal is a tad of a stretch here in these difficult economic times. However, as contradictory as it may sound, this maybe just the right time for people to think about those less fortunate. Many of us are blessed to have enough and a little bit more, despite the downturn, et al. Lost in the shuffle of CNN "Economic Crisis" headlines are people who are truly in crisis and have been for a long time. So skip the low-foam latte with a hint of cinnamon for 2-weeks and support an excellent cause. Our team is giving up our knees, ankles, toenails on behalf of Oxfam, we hope the least you can do is support Oxfam with a few pesos (figuratively - Yen, Dollars, Honkies, Loonies, Quid preferable)!
Thanks to your generousity thus far, we've decided to increase our funding-raising goal!
