I'VE DONE IT - All 26.2 mile's of it.
Thank you so much for sponsoring me and making all of the 26.2 miles worth it. I have no blisters or aches and pains (except my wisdom tooth!). I came in at position 5761 with a time of 5hrs 7mins 6secs.
I blame a toilet break which stopped me getting inside the 5hrs that I wanted - I am far too posh to poo my pants in a Paula Radcliffe style and you should have seen the queues!
Thank you so so much
Juliet xx

In April 2006 I was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ITU) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital to be put in an induced coma and on to life support. Why?
I was diagnosed with Gullian Barre Syndrome (GBS). It is a condition that anyone can get at any time where the immune system goes into overdrive and attacks the nervous system, which in turn left me paralysed. It is also something that can impact on any of the major organs and in my case it was my lungs which meant I had to go onto a respirator. In addition to that I had further complications by contracting Adult Respiratory Disorder Syndrome (ARDS) and in simple terms my lungs stopped working! As a result of ARDS I then had to have thoracic surgery (again in simple terms, a major operation to attach my lungs to my ribcage!)
After long days and long nights my condition improved and with lots of intensive physiotherapy I was able to go home to my husband Mark and my two brave little girls Madison & Yasmin (who were 3 and 1 respectively at the time). It was an incredibly hard time for all and I wish to thank family, friends, colleagues and friends of friends for their continued support. I spent a total of 4 months in hospital.
I have therefore chosen to raise money for the Intensive Care Unit (ITU) at Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital in return for the staff’s dedication to the health service and my recovery. Without their efforts and their personal commitment to make a difference, I wouldn’t be here today, so a great big thank you to all those involved.
I was finally discharged from the chest clinic in February 2008.
