Argyll and Sutherland Regiment: WWPS Army training challenge Saturday September 13, 2008.
Thank you so much for all your encouragement, support and sponsorship. To date we have raised about £14,000 for the Ashford neonatal and special care baby unit - which has far exceeded our hope and expectations. With your help and support, I have raised approx. £1,490 – and was in second place for fund raising. Thank you very much!!
I (surprisingly) really enjoyed the day. I learnt a lot about the army, their training and the Argyll & Sutherland regiment. They currently have ~ 400 soldiers in and after Saturday’s training day, I have a great respect for the training and the job they have taken on.
I learnt some new things about myself too:
- marching in time is quite difficult,
- I can (in a manner) do push-ups when shouted at by a sergeant-major,
- I am absolutely useless at aiming a rifle,
- I can scale 8 foot fences when convinced I need to….
Thank you! Julie
