Story
"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more ... imitate the action of the tiger ... Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood ..... and run, fatboy run."
That was the plan and, for the most part, it all went to plan. Between the 28th and 30th March, Simon "Ironman" Patenall, Paul "The Power" Taylor and Terry "Jellylegs" Richardson attempted the Jurassic Coast Challenge = 78.6 miles along the Jurassic Coast of Dorset, heading east from Lyme Regis to Studland Bay, Poole. It was almost exclusively off-road, taking in some frightening gradients, battling freak winds on the cliff tops and wondering each day if a marathon really is supposed to be over 28 miles long !!!???
"The Power" Taylor and "Ironman" Patenall made it to triumphantly to the end and "Jellylegs" Richardson finally crashed and burned after 2.5 marathons and was eliminated.
Miraculously, all three of us were injury free and apart from the expected blisters and post-race silly walks (straight from the ministry textbook), we are all in good shape and even rather heavier after the hearty eating in-between races.

Why would we do that to ourselves?? A good question that each of us is still asking even after the challenge. We were at least supporting a good cause in doing so.
We would like to thank everyone for their generous support, both moral and financial towards Cancer Research UK. If you didn't get time to sponsor us before the race, you still have plenty of time to do so. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you for visiting our joint fundraising page.
