Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Thank you all for your kind sponsorship and support.

You will be pleased to know I completed the 50 mile ride (with ease!) although my backside thinks I did 500 miles!

We left Holme Pierpont at 9.30 and got into Newark for 11.40, my aim was to be there before 12 so I achieved my target.

The ride back to Holme Pierpont had many obstacles to overcome including refreshment stops and lovely country public houses, where it seemed rude not to sample thier ales and then the subsequent toilet breaks, so we made it back into Holme Pierpont at 5.20pm.

The weather was perfect for cycling (and sitting outside pubs) and I really enjoyed the day, proving that I am still an "athlete" under this ageing exterior and more importantly raising money for the well worthy charities.

I have attached some photos to prove I was there at the beginning, Newark and the finish line.

As part of my "Mid-Life Crisis" and as one of my last achievments before I reach the age of 40, I am attempting to complete the Great Nottingham Bike Ride from Nottingham to Newark and back.

I actually did this 3 times in my teens and it will be a big accompishment if I can still manage it before reaching 40 as well as raising funds for 4 very worthy charities, Cerebral Palsy Sport, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Rainbows Children's Hospice, When You Wish Upon a Star.

As I have not yet been on my bike this year your money could be safe!!

We are aiming to be in Newark for "opening time" and will be back at Holme Pierpoint when we get there (hopefully before dark).

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rainbows Children's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
