Story

My sister Victoria has got cystic fibrosis and is currently waiting for a double lung transplant...

She has lost too many friends to this terrible disease this year to bear thinking about and i am doing this jump for her and to celebrate the lives of all  those she has lost...

God Bless Jessica Wales, Paul Roberts, Joanne Hayes and all the others that have been taken from us xxx

Lorraine Barnes who also has 2 boys with CF has organised the event below and i hope that we can all raise lots of money to make a difference xxx

Bringing together a team of family and friends, as well as young people who have Cystic Fibrosis themselves, to do a Tandem Skydive in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to take place on Saturday 22nd May 2010 (and possibly 23rd if numbers are large) from Langar Airfield in Nottingham - the bigger the Team the more monies we will raise for the Charity.

We are jumping in recognition of all those who have lost their fight to this dreadful disease, and in particular for 4 special friends : Jessica, Anna, Pauline and Vicky ..... all truly inspirational individuals who left a mark on many peoples lives, including mine.  I wouldn't even have considered doing a 3rd Tandem Skydive this year, but compare 20 minutes out of your life to doing something daring to living with Cystic Fibrosis day in day out and the intrusion into the lives of families living with it and dying with it = no comparison.  BRING IT ON - TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

My hope is that the team grows to more than 23 members and we raise more than £25,000 collectively to beat the 2009 Challenge Team.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the UK’s most common life-threatening inherited disease

Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick, sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food.

Average life expectancy is around 31 years and, although improvements in treatments mean a baby born today could expect to live longer, there is no cure for CF and lung transplantation is often the only option. Most individuals with cystic fibrosis die young, many in their 20s and 30s from lung failure.

Each week, 3 YOUNG LIVES are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.

We are aiming to raise a lot of money to go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to help towards research and care for those suffering from CF, so please give generously.
