Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am days away from the big climb in Africa and as a group I think we have the energy, determination and ability to while away time twittering to reach the summit. Our story started with Val, an old friend from University convincing 6 of us to join her on this adventure. Since then, 12 months have lapsed and we have paced the hills of Sussex, Scotland, Wales, all notorious training grounds for Killi, probably done more research on the medical risks than Sir Edmond Hillary and know all about the benefits and price of Mourinho wool garments.
So the kit list check is completed and am ready to go...............
However to make my trip reach further than a great experience I would also like to use this occasion to raise money for a specific project in Tanzania. This project, training health workers to improve the lives of the under 5 's in local communities,is about to start through Plan International and I would love to be able to donate to this cause as it will change the lives of so many children.
Thanks of taking the time to read this page and I hope you can help support me.
Best wishes
Kate
Here are 3 good reasons why Plan is working in Tanzania
88% of the population survives on less than 77 pence per day
Only a third of the rural population has access to proper sanitation
Malaria is the biggest killer of children, but les than a third sleep under a treated mosquito net
