We work with young women to improve their lifelong opportunities

Story

Lisa: The student strike will continue until you restore music and art.
Principal Skinner: What about gym?
Lisa: [dismissive] Eh.

I'm running the London Royal Parks half marathon dressed as Lisa Simpson on 12 October 2008 to raise money for a charity helping girls and women who haven't had the support and opportunities I've had. Please help me raise money for a worthy cause.

YWCA focuses on early school leavers, young mums or mums-to-be, asylum seekers and refugees, young offenders, and women who have been in abusive or violent relationships. They suffer poverty, they may misuse drugs or alcohol, they may be homeless or jobless. Most suffer from a crippling loss of confidence.

YWCA typically works with women aged 11 to 30. There are YWCA centres across England and Wales in disadvantaged communities in the South West, London and the South East, the Midlands, Merseyside, Yorkshire and Humberside, and South Wales.

See www.ywca.org.uk  for more info or to apply for a sought-after place in the Royal London Parks half marathon.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: YWCA England & Wales will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
