Story
So, what should a girl do after completing such a challenge. Take a rest? No.....sign up for another one.....or maybe two!
My challenge for 2010 - to cycle 300 miles across China AND run a half marathon. Yes, I must be mad!!!!
But it's for such a good cause. I will be joining the 10th Women for Women challenge in October to raise funds for Professor Robert Winston’s appeal to improve the health of women and babies.
Despite being diagnosed with PCOS 12 years ago, I have been lucky enough to have 3 utterly gorgeous children. But for many, PCOS leads to major fertility problems, which is why I am such a fan of the work of Professor Winston's team.
“Funds raised by Women for Women will support that which we all hold most dear – the birth of a healthy baby – investing in our family’s health. This vital medical research will to some extent affect every man, woman and child in this country.”
Professor Robert Winston Chairman of Women for Women and the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Trust www.women-for-women.org
Women for Women raises funds, awareness and provides training for research into the causes and treatments of conditions that affect women and their babies including;
Cancer, Miscarriage, Genetic diseases, Stillbirth, Polycystic ovary syndrome, Pre-eclampsia, Infertility, Obstetric cholestasis, Brain injury
With nearly 250 babies dying every week in the UK from complications during pregnancy, their work has never been so essential for women and babies nationwide.
So
I'm off to China for a very big cycle ride in October and, as a bit of a warm up (?!?) will be running the Run to the Beat Half Marathon in London in September (didn't want people to think I was taking it easy second time around!).
The run is going to be a huge challenge as it's something I've never been able to do. Am training hard at the moment and am already up to running 7 miles (just got to find another 6 miles in my legs)!
The bike ride is also going to be a big challenge....despite the fact I've done one before. We are heading to a particulary hilly part of China and will be cycling up to 110kms a day. Basically I have a tough few months of training ahead!
Your support would
be very much appreciated. All of the money pledged will go directly to
the charity (I am covering all of the costs of the trip). Donating

Many thanks for your support.
