Story
Breaking news:
I did the race, and came in with a time of 1 hr 12 (approximately). It was pretty tough on the day because I sprained my foot towards the beginning, but I ran the whole distance and my time wasn't too bad considering.
Thankyou to all my sponsors.
Kate
Dear all,
Thankyou for visiting this page!
Médicins sans Frontières is a great charity, which I have admired for years. They give medical support to people around the world suffering because of famines, epidemics, wars, etc. They help people in desperate need, so your cash will definitely be going to a good cause.
Running this race will also be a big personal achievement for me. When I was diagnosed with cancer I had to stop all forms of exercise while the treatment took effect. When I got out of hospital I had a long way to go to regain my fitness, and I've had a few setbacks on the way. Running this race is one of the targets I set myself, on the way to getting my life back, and it's great to be in a position now to be able to do it.
So please donate.
I need the support and encouragement, but the people MSF helps need it much more! I was lucky enough to have good, free, medical care...
Update: Dear all,
Thankyou very much for all of your donations!
Unfortunately I have broken my toe, in an extremely stupid accident, and therefore will not be able to run in the race this weekend.
I will walk the course instead on Sunday, but I want to make sure I earn my sponsorship money - and I want to do a proper run for my own sake, as well.
Therefore, I intend to enter this event: http://www.manyharrier.co.uk/Races.htm, which is also 10k and which is scheduled for after my toe should have healed.
Thankyou very much,
Kate
