Story

Hi

Thanks for clicking.

So why are we being pushed out of a perfectly good aeroplane? As you can guess from the link, our aim is to raise money for a very worthwhile, yet not very well known (or easy to pronounce) charity; Mesothelioma research.

Mesothelioma is a malignant lung disease which results mainly from exposure to asbestos. Deaths from mesothelioma have increased ten-fold since 1968 in the UK. Someone dies every five hours from mesothelioma in the UK alone.

Sadly, Kathy's Dad Ged passed away in March 2008 two months before his well earned retirement, having been diagnosed with mesothelioma in August 2007. For this reason we've decided to help raise awareness about the Mesothelioma Charter to help other sufferers and their families.

We've chosen The June Hancock Fund because they:

  • Encourage and sponsor vital epidemiological research
  • Contribute to clinical trials with novel drug therapies
  • Raise awareness of the disease
  • Provide up to date information & advice for sufferers & carers

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now! All contributions are gratefully received.
Feel free to state on the donation form who you would prefer pushed out of the aeroplane first. Neither of us are particularly looking forward to it :o|

    Thanks again,

    Kathy & Eliot
