Christmas was over, the New Year had begun, and I was looking for a new challenge. In a moment of madness I decided that this would be the year that I would become super fit, and the marathon would be a good (and ambitious!) goal. And so I signed up before I could think too seriously about it……and here I am!

With only two months to go I'm finding it hard to say the least! But despite the injuries I've faced I am progressing slowly and surely, and I'm still looking forward to it. My determination won't let me give up and I'm still confident that I will succeed!

So New York is the destination I have chosen to conquer my goal, and I’m very excited by the prospect of putting my mark on one of the world’s most thriving cities, and one which I haven’t yet experienced. My aim isn’t to break records, but to run the entire race. I’ve got four months to go and believe that with a lot of hard work I will achieve this.

My chosen charity is Yorkshire Cancer Research, who carry out vital research into finding cures. Many of us will have been affected by Cancer at some point in our lives, and to contribute towards fighting this disease is certainly worthwhile.
