Fundraising for Marie Curie
Story
At the beginning of October I am embarking on a three-day trek with over 30 other people to the summit of North Africa's highest mountain, Mount Toukbal, at 4,167m. When I signed up back in February, there seemed plenty of time for training and getting fit. Now several months and far too few training sessions later it is crunch time (and not of the credit variety).
However, I trust I cannot do myself too much damage in three days and I do hope you will support me in what is a very important cause. For more than 30 years, the Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead, has been providing high quality care to patients with cancer and their families in the heart of the North London community, totally free of charge.
They need to raise £3.4millon to transform the hospice with a modern layout and new facilities so they can provide even better care, support, dignity and relief to terminally ill cancer patients and their families.
I have chosen to support the Marie Curie hospice in Hampstead because it is part of my local community and like most of us I have sadly lost relatives to cancer. Some of my fellow trekkers have experienced the care provided by the Hampstead Hospice and know first hand the difference it makes both to them and to their terminally ill relative to die in a dignified and supportive environment.
I would be so grateful if you could support me in my personal challenge and in making a difference to those who will benefit from the hospice in the future.
